Before you start

Cooking Instructions


Step 5 : Cook the Fried-rice

Heat a cooking pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the red onion and cook until translucent. Add the cubed carrot and sauté for 3-5 mins. Stir in the rice and sambal Oelek (spicy) until well combined. Season with black pepper and salt. Garnish with chopped spring onion.

20 g Peanut Butter
7 g Brown Sugar
30 ml Tamari Soy Sauce
400 ml Water for Rice
180 g Jasmine Rice
110 g Red Onion
150 g Carrot
10 g Spring Onion
30 g Sambal Oelek
100 g Celery
5 g Coriander Leaves
35 g Lime
10 ml Fish Sauce
10 g Peanut

Step 1 : Cook the Rice

Wash and rinse the jasmine rice. In a pot, bring the salted water to a boil. Add the rice and cook uncovered for 1-3 mins. Cover and cook on low heat for 12 mins. Once done, remove the pot from the stove.

Step 3 : Prep the Ingredients

Cut the red onion in half, peel, and finely chop. Peel and cut the carrot into small cubes. Chop the spring onion.

Step 2 : Marinate the Chicken

Marinate the chicken with peanut butter, brown sugar, tamari soy sauce with oil. Thread the chicken onto skewers. Heat a grill pan over medium heat. Place the chicken skewers on the grill and cook each side for 7-8 mins or until no longer pink in the middle.

Step 4 : Make the Salad

Slice the celery and finely chop the coriander leaves. Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice into a mixing bowl. Add the sliced celery, half of the chopped spring onion, fish sauce, crushed peanuts, and toss.

Step 6 : Serve and Enjoy!

Divide the rice among plates, top with chicken skewers, and serve with the refreshing salad on the side.
